Today, Hamlet and Macbeth words fill theaters and high schools around the world; but in his own time, Shakespeare wasn’t the grandest name in English theater. That honor belonged to Christopher Marlowe, whose career as a spy for Queen Elizabeth I was as vibrant and dangerous as his boundary-pushing plays. Author Allison Epstein shares the story of Marlowe’s life and world - what we know of it, and how she approached using historical fiction to fill in the gaps.

Our 3 course Lunch is served at noon before the program. Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. The menu changes weekly, and is prepared by our Executive Chef Woody.
